Welcome Fellow Adventurers!

You're about to embark on an adventure through time exploring magical creatures and Greek myths. Your task is to climb Mt. Olympus receiving points along the way for your labors. Your goal is to have the top score out of all of the adventurers. Quality will be rewarded over quickness. Don't forget the extra credit projects are available at each level.  This could make the difference for first place. This website coincides with your classroom packet.  Good luck and may the gods be with you!

Base Level 1 Activities
    Task 1: Complete Ancient Greek Activity Page in Packet
    Task 2: Read and complete Student Guide Activity
    Task 3: Complete Identification Chart of the Olympians
    Task 4: Complete Stars and Constellations
    Task 5: Complete the Power of the Gods.
             Final Task Start your Greek Mythology Book. Research and pick one greek mythology character. Write one page of information on your character. Include one page of illustrations for your character. Finally on the the thrid page your choice: Either create an adventure for your character, write a letter to another god or a poem, or write a diary entry for your character.

Level 2
    Task 1: Read 12 Labors of Hercules and Myth 1 materials
    Task 2: Complete Myth 1 Exercises
    Task 3: Write a postcard to one of Hercules friends after he completes each labor. You should have 12 postcards.
    Task 4: Take  Hercules Quiz
    Task 5: Choose the next character in your book and follow previous procedure. 
    Task 6:  Read Admetus and Alcestis. Complete Myth Exercises 2
    Task 7: Add a new character to your book. Follow previous criteria.
    Task 8: Read selections on Echo and Narcissus. Complete Myth Excercises 3. 
    Task 9: Add a new character to your book. Follow previous criteria.
    
    Obstacle 1 and 2. You will need to overcome these obstacles within 30 minutes to continue on. See Ms. Klopp.

Level 3 Activities
    Task 1: Create your own mythological creature. You must name it, it must have 3 physical characteristics along with character traits. (Example is helpful to humans etc. ) You may illustrate or build your creature. 
    Task 2: Read and complete Myth 3 exercises. 
    Task 3: Add a character to your book.
    Task 4: Read and complete Myth 4 exercises.
Obstacle 3 and 4. You will have 30 minutes to overcome both obstacles. See Ms. Klopp before proceeding. 
    Task 5: Read and complete Myth 5 exercises. 
    Task 6: Add a character to your book. 
    Task 7: Research and create a presentation of your choice on Ancient Greece. This could be art, music, math, politics, law, etc. One 3d prop must be included and presentation should last 5 min.

Level 4
    Task 1: Read and complete Myth 6 Exercises.
Obstacle 4 See Ms. Klopp before proceeding. (Invent your own myth, perform and create a movie poster)
    Task 2: Add a character to your book.
    Task 3: Draw and prepare for the Meeting of the Gods. You will need to introduce yourself, how you are related to the other gods, tell one complete story about yourself, create a prop or symbol to represent yourself and explain why you are still alive today.
    Task 4: Read and complete Myth 7 Exercises.
    Task 5: Pandora's Box. Bring a bottle, box or other item to school to create your own Pandora's Box. Design it so no one can resist opening. Inside it in the form of "eyes and wings" place 10 evils of today.  and 10 hopes.
Task 6: Sugar Monument. Pick a character and build a monument out of sugar to honor this character. Research Greek architecture before building.
 Task 7: Add a character to your book.

Reaching the top of Mt. Olympus
You have one huge boulder to overcome. To complete your adventure choose one of the final projects in preparation for our Ancient Greek Festival where you will showcase your projects, eat Ancient Greek foods, dress like the ancient Greeks and participate in the Ancient Greek Olympics. 
    ^ Create a local news boadcast or talk show set in Ancient Greece. Examples could be newscast on Trojan War ending or an interview with Zeus himself. Record and edit your production in either Windows Movie Maker or Imovie. 
    ^ Create a video commercial on an ancient Greece character. 
    ^ Create an Ancient Greece Dinner menu using today's food but Greek mythology names. Examples would be Minotaur Meat (beef jerky) or Dionysas's Delight (grape pop). 
    ^ Create an edition of Ancient Greece newspaper using Ipage or microsoft publisher.
