Welcome to the Math Seekers Home Page
Math Seekers is comprised of students who scored high in the Math categories of ITBS or were highly recommended by their teacher for extra math enrichment activities. Our goal is to provide fun and creative math enrichment activities to reinforce math skills, NOT to progress faster through the curriculum.
2nd Grade is working on The Athenian Secret. A simulation of a Greek Treasure Hunt.
3rd Grade students this year are currently building their math city named Newfinnigan. The students had to apply for a job, be hired and build their store from ground up. They pay rent, create their catalog of items to sell, build their store, learn to balance a checkbook and how to use a debit card and finally run their store on shopping days.
4th Grade is on a Math Quest using problem solving strategies to make their way through various fantasyland's in the quest for gold. Watch out the fate cards might send you backwards!
5th and 6th Grade students are given $100,000 to invest in the stockmarket in the quest to be the top investor. They learn about companies, brands, corporations and how the various stock and bond markets work.
